Didier Drogba to Return to Chelsea

Chelsea are considering the possibility of bringing Didier Drogba back to Stamford Bridge to replace former Super Eagles defender, Michael Emenalo,

Emenalo recently resigned his appointment as Technical Director of the Premier League champions. The Telegraph is reporting that Emenalo’s departure could pave the way for Abramovich to try again to bring back Drogba.

Hull City manager Leonid Slutsky is also being considered and can be offered a job at Chelsea in case he is dismissed from the post of head coach of his club.

Drogba scored over 150 goals across two different spells at Chelsea and is currently a player-owner at American club Phoenix Rising.

However, there are reports that French Ligue 1 moneybags Monaco are interested in the services of Emenalo. Emenalo had cited family reasons for his resignation.

“After 10 years here, 10 wonderful, successful years, but very demanding years, it is a very tough decision to decide to step aside”, he said.

“It is entirely my decision and it has come about for very simple reasons. I need an opportunity to get to see my young kids grow and also to step back and reflect on the work that I have done here and the things that we have been able to accomplish together in this great club.
“It is something I have been thinking about for quite some time now and it is something I have discussed with my family and they understand the reasons and the timing for wanting to step aside.”

Nigeria police rated worst in the world in ranking of 127 countries

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has been ranked worst in the world according to the 2016 World Internal Security and Police Index (WISPI).

The WISPI was released by two bodies – the International Police Science Association and the Institute for Economics and Peace.

The report which measured the police’ ability to address internal security issues, assessed police in 127 countries based on four metrics—capacity, process, legitimacy and outcomes.

The report showed that Nigeria performed poorly in all four categories, with a score of 0.255.

“There are 219 police officers for every 100,000 Nigerians, well below both the Index median of 300, and the sub-Saharan Africa region average of 268.

“This limits the capacity of the force to measure up to its law and order mandate.

“In terms of process, legitimacy and outcomes, the story is not different which makes the force fall short of the required standard.

“High levels of political terror have been an issue for Nigeria since 1993, with the country scoring a 4 on the Political Terror Scale every year since then.

“Terrorism remains one of the greatest threats to internal security. Terrorism has increased dramatically over the last three years, with more than 62,000 people being killed in terrorist attacks between 2012 and 2014. The biggest rise in the last year occurred in Nigeria”, the report read.

According to the report, the top 10 performing African countries were Botswana which ranked highest at 47, followed by Rwanda which took the 50th position.

Others include Algeria, Senegal, Tunisia, Egypt, Burkina Faso, Ghana, South Africa and Mali, in that order.

The remainder of the 10 worst performing African countries include Madagascar (111th), Zambia (112th), Ethiopia (115th), Sierra Leone (117th), Cameroon (120th), Mozambique (122nd), Uganda (124th), Kenya (125th), Democratic Republic of Congo (126th).

Europe was at the top of the global rankings, with eight European countries in total.

Reacting however, Jimoh Moshood, spokesman of the police, rejected the report, claiming Nigeria police was best in Africa.

2018 World Cup Qualifiers: Nigeria shares spoils with Algeria in final clash

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have finished their World Cup qualifier with no defeat as they played out a 1-1 draw against Algeria on Friday night in Constantine.

John Ogu, with a wonder strike, gave Nigeria the lead in the 62nd minute, before Algeria pulled level late from the penalty spot.

The Eagles had 14 points from six games during the qualifiers; winning four and drawing two.

With the qualifiers now done and dusted, next stop for the Eagles is Tuesday’s international friendly against Argentina in Russia.

The Shocking Injury That Almost Left Arsenal Star, Cazorla's Leg Amputated

Injury-ravaged Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has revealed that he almost lost his foot during his lay-off.

The talented 32-year-old has not played for Arsenal since October 2016, but his problems go back further, with the 11 months leading up to that proving equally hellish.

Achilles tendonitis has been the problem, with the former Villarreal star suffering from the condition on two separate occasions. The second bout is still keeping him out of action and almost cost him his foot due to infection.

The midfielder has undergone eight separate surgeries since his initial Achilles injury, and has even needed to cover the grisly wound with the skin from his arm.

And Cazorla has shed light on his injury nightmare in an interview with Spanish newspaper Marca .

Cazorla told the newspaper: "The doctor told me if I was able to walk with my kid on the garden I should be thankful.
"The problem was that it did not heal and the wounds would reopen, become infected."

Cazorla worked with Spanish doctor Mikel Sanchez throughout his nightmare, with the specialist apparently claiming he had never seen such a case in his career.

"He saw that I had a tremendous infection, that I had damaged part of the bone and damaged the Achilles tendon," Cazorla added.

It remains to be seen whether Cazorla will ever be able to get back to his very best, but he is said to be targeting a return in January.

Single Viral Instagram Photo Landed This Unknown Lady a Modelling Contract

Dayum, girl – that’s how to use Instagram to your advantage.

19-year-old Anok Yai landed a modelling contract with a high-end, global agency overnight after posting a single photo that dropped the world’s jaw.

She thinks the photo that gained her insta fame made her look like a “deer in headlights,” using “average” as another adjective for the pic. She obviously had no idea what was coming, however, telling the Washington Post that:

When it got to a couple thousand and it just kept going higher and higher, I was surprised. And I was happy. I always wanted it to happen, but it was something I never expected.

You need to see this:

Her Instagram following blew up, moving from 300 followers to 50 000 in a matter of days, with her picture in Howard’s yard eventually gaining more than 30 000 likes.

She went on to say:

I got an email from a modelling agency. They said they were interested in having me and they had me call them. And they just set up tons of interviews and it just went on from there.

Did she get it from her mama?

Legs for days.

Her flawlessness is thanks to Sudanese heritage, but Yai was born in Egypt and moved to the U.S. when she was only two years old. She would later move to Manchester, New Hampshire, where she grew up and identifies with most.

Steve Hall captured the moment after bumping into Yai at Yard Fest in Washington D.C., asking her to pose for a few shots for his fashion website, The SUNK. He, too, earned an extra 14 000 likes after posting the picture on his own Instagram page.

Now she’s with Next Models in New York, an agency that has worked with the likes of Lana Del Rey and Rita Ora, holding down covers on Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.

And her mom wants her to continue with her studies? Sounds like my dad.

Chelsea vs Manchester United: Potential lineups, team news, injury updates

Chelsea and Manchester United will be locking horns in the Premier League this weekend.

It has been a difficult task for the Red Devils when they travel to west London to face their familiar foes.

Jose Mourinho’s side was beaten two weeks ago against Huddersfield Town, a result that allowed Manchester City to open up a lead at the top of the table.

But they have bounced back to win three in all competitions since then and appear determined to close the gap.

On the other hand, Antonio Conte’s Chelsea are even further off the pace, they are nine points behind the leaders and they are currently navigating through a difficult period.

Chelsea suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat to Roma in the Champions League in midweek and will be keen to bounce back with what could be a decisive victory.

France midfielder, N’golo Kante, Chelsea’s engine room, is a doubt for the match over his fitness meaning that Tiemoue Bakayoko is likely to continue alongside Cesc Fabregas in midfield.

Also in the midfield, Danny Drinkwater is available for selection, but may have to make do with a place on the bench against his old club.

Chelsea’s potential starting XI: Courtois; Cahill, Azpilicueta, Luiz; Zappacosta, Alonso, Bakayoko, Fabregas, Hazard, Pedro; Morata.

For Manchester United, they will continue with life without Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo are yet to return.

Defenders Phil Jones and Antonio Valencia were not used in their Champions League win over Benfica but they should come back into the team.

Manchester United potential starting XI: De Gea; Valencia, Jones, Bailly, Blind; Matic, Herrera, Mkhitaryan, Lingard; Rashford, Lukaku.
